Welcome to the studio
Before you even step into the studio, you catch sight of me through the large bay window. I may be sitting at the bench, my back to you, sawing a new piece; or over on the left, torch in hand, mask on my face; or busy printing an engraving on a very large table that is too low for me. Push the door open — I was expecting you.

A bit of everything, and no matter
Arts & jewellery
My studio is a place where anything can take shape. Jewellery-making sits alongside printmaking, tools meet and sometimes swap disciplines: everything communicates — that is what I love here. I tried to make Aphéa a jewellery brand, but it didn't suit me. I love jewellery, its relationship to the body, but above all I love its material: metal. It was metal that first drew me to jewellery-making. So, resisting no longer, I opened the floodgates. I make everything and anything, until something begins to take shape. Metal sometimes becomes sculpture, printmaking takes flight — and soon clay will spread its wings too (I hope to have a kiln one day).
In search of something
Genesis & Intentions
My instinct always steers me back to much the same things: guardians, faces turned to the sky, figures watching with their eyes closed. I love the idea that the outer world can awaken a landscape within us. That the gaze we turn outward is, at the same time, a gaze turned upon our own inner world. I think I am trying to capture fragments of landscapes that reveal this in-between, this vibrant relationship between me and the world, and to anchor them in matter.
The Aphéa creations were born of this attempt. I imagine them as fragments of inner landscapes: jewels or objects that open a space where everyone can let their own story resonate. I offer you a world, in the hope that it will meet yours.
I have always been drawn to the invisible, the silent. And when I discovered Symbolism, that movement suddenly gathered together everything that fascinated me at the time: in music, in painting, in poetry. Its depth speaks to me. It is this depth I want to understand: where it comes from, why it moves me so, why my own creations sometimes glow with a kindred soul — and why, sometimes, it fails completely.

And yet, as I try to explain all this to you, I always have the feeling of not quite being there, of drawing near the true question without reaching it yet. I don't know which path I will take to find it, but I want to share it with you.
You will notice that a few beings keep returning. I still don't know what they are guarding, what they are watching up there, but they keep coming back, so I let them.
So here I am, writing these lines to tell you that, despite the slogan-like phrases displayed here or on my social media, I don't yet truly know what I am looking for.
But I keep searching for that something, drawing closer to it, and sharing it along the way.
